Orange Cucumbers

My friend called me over to help her with her garden. She told me she had yellow cucumbers. I headed over assuming that she had let them go to long and they had turned from green to yellow. But when I got there I saw that her cucumbers from the little starts to the bigger ones were a yellow-orange color. Like the color of a pumpkin. Does anyone have any clue why they would be this color? She said when she bought the seeds there were green cucumbers on the package. Thanks for your help!

It could have been a stray seed or mislabeled seed. There are many varieties of yellow cucumbers which turn orange or brown as they ripen.
