Smile Used compost

Mygarden is relatively small and, when I bought my wife a greenhouse I gave my compost bin away. We now use bagged compost from garden suppliers and have quite a lot of compost we used for growing potatoes and vegetables. In the past I have distributed the used compost on the garden flower beds. Because we are intending to plant 3 large potatoe growing bags and other vaegetables in pots and planters I wondered if, and where, we could use the compost from last year and, if so, what precautions need to be taken to prevent the possibility of disease. Hope you can help. Thank you.
