Lightbulb Lawn Alternative

Would you consider Dutch White Clover as a lawn alternative? or are there any other good lawn alternatives?

I read about clover having great qualities that would make it good for your lawn as an alternative to the regular grass. It's free of weeds, stays green even in summer, it doesn't need fertilizer and relatively pest free. It also grows up to a certain height so mowing is rarely done. I'd say it's got enough pro points to make it the ideal lawn grass.

Smile wildflowers instead!

I want to try a wildflower meadow on the acre of beachside property my partner and I just bought. These meadows are pretty and they tend to attract lots of birds and butterflies. They do take special care if they are to survive and thrive.

My neighbor has this on her lawn.

It's called Pinto Peanuts (Arachis Pintoi). It provides great ground cover and has these pretty, tiny flowers.

Here's a lovely close-up I found

It's good under full sun or in shade, and grows about 0.2m.

That's a pretty ground cover. The green and yellow colors are lovely and refreshing. I think it would be a nice alternative to regular lawn grass, especially if they don't require much maintenance.

- Sedums (also great drought tolerant plants)
- Ice plant
- Creeping fig (it also grows on walls. You might have seen it growing along some houses)
- Asian Jasmine
